Two weeks before my senior year of college I received a painful phone call from my mother, my grandfather, Charles Harmon, was admitted to the hospital. A week later, cancer took the life of someone I truly adored. Just a week before the phone call regarding my grandfather being admitted, I was planning out my senior project to make a documentary on his life. Within a couple of weeks, a documentary on my adored grandfather turned into a difficult tribute to the bond we share and the empty, lonely, silence I felt during his absence. However, I am grateful there was a way to make my grandfather a part of my graduation even if he was unable to be physically present.
